How the Ohio ACA subsidy works
The federal premium tax credit caps what you pay for the second-cheapest Silver plan in your Ohio county at a percentage of your household income — currently 0% if you earn under 150% of the federal poverty level (FPL), rising to 8.5% at higher incomes through 2025 (the Inflation Reduction Act enhanced subsidies are scheduled to extend or sunset depending on 2025–26 federal action). The credit can be taken upfront (lower monthly premium) or at tax time. CoverShield handles the IRS Form 8962 reconciliation guidance during enrollment.
